How it works

Old rules for choosing a moment, applied to your own chart.

Every plan has a significator, the planet that rules what you are doing. Mercury rules documents and conversations. Venus rules love and money. Mars rules anything started with force. Jupiter rules growth, Saturn rules what must last, and the Moon rules home and feelings. Each plan also concerns some houses of your chart: the 10th for career, the 7th for partners, the 4th for home.

Prism follows the real planets day by day and compares them with your birth chart. A day scores well when the significator is strong and well supported, and when the houses of your chart that the plan concerns are touched in a helpful way. The best stretches in the time you have become your windows. The weakest become the days to avoid.

There are hard rules too. Prism does not choose Mercury retrograde for signing, buying or publishing, and it counts the days around an eclipse against anything new.

The five colours

  • Hard Things meet real resistance. Keep plans simple, expect some conflict and be kind to yourself.
  • Tense There is some pressure. A good day for hard work, but not for asking favours.
  • Steady An ordinary day. Nothing helps or blocks you much. A good day for routine.
  • Flow Things go your way more often than not. A good day to take the first step.
  • Harmony The planets favour you today. Ask for things, start things and celebrate.

Questions

How does Plan choose the best days?

It follows electional astrology, the old practice of choosing the right moment for an action. Each plan has a ruling planet, such as Mercury for contracts, Venus for love and Mars for launches, and the houses of your chart that it concerns. Prism follows the planets day by day against your birth chart and ranks the days when that planet and those houses get support. It also marks the days to avoid, such as Mercury retrograde for signing.

Is it the same for everyone?

No. Plan reads your own birth chart, from your date, time and place of birth. Two people with the same sun sign get different windows, because the planets touch different points and houses in their charts.

Why does each window have a reason?

Every window names the transit behind it, for example a planet supporting your 10th house of career. You can see why a day was chosen and decide how much weight to give it.

How far ahead can I plan?

The coming weeks are free. Prism Gold plans up to 90 days ahead.

Should I really plan my life around this?

Use it as one piece of information among many. Astrology is for reflection and fun. It is not medical, legal or financial advice. If your lawyer is only free on one day, sign the contract on that day.
