Questions
How is zodiac compatibility worked out here?
From the structure of the zodiac, not from opinion. The distance between two signs is an aspect. A trine is easy, a square creates friction, and an opposition attracts but also pulls apart. The two signs’ elements and modes either match or do not. Their ruling planets are friends or rivals in tradition. These facts give love, friendship and work one of Prism’s five colours.
Which signs are most compatible?
Signs of the same element (a trine, 120° apart) usually get on most easily. So do signs of friendly elements 60° apart: fire with air, and earth with water. Squares (90°) and quincunxes (150°) need more work. But Sun signs are only the simplest kind of compatibility.
Is Sun-sign compatibility accurate?
It describes character in general terms. Real compatibility, called synastry, compares two whole charts. It looks at how one person’s Moon, Venus, Mars and rising sign relate to the other person’s planets. The Prism app does this for the people in your life.
Do opposite signs attract?
Often, yes. Opposite signs have the same mode and elements that complete each other, so each has what the other lacks. The attraction is strong. The task is to use the difference as teamwork, not as a fight.
