Accessibility statement
Prism should be quick and easy to read for everyone. Here is what we do, what is not perfect yet, and how to contact us.
Our aim
We want the app and this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We also follow the iOS and Android accessibility guidelines.
Colour is never the only signal
Prism uses five colours, and every colour also has a word: Hard, Tense, Steady, Flow, Harmony. When a day is shown by colour, its name is also on the screen or read by the screen reader. Text on coloured backgrounds uses darker shades for good contrast.
In the app
- Screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack): screens, charts and the Prism character have descriptions. Screen readers skip decorative drawings.
- Larger text: text follows your phone’s text size setting.
- Reduced motion: with “Reduce motion” on, Prism and its light do not move.
- Touch targets are at least 44 points.
On this website
- Clear headings, page regions and a “skip to content” link.
- Every control works with a keyboard and shows clearly when it is selected.
- Animations pause when they are off the screen. They stop completely when you turn on reduced motion.
- Tools announce their results. Charts and calendars also exist as text.
Known limitations
- Astrological glyphs (☉ ☽ ♀ …) are always paired with their names, but some screen readers read the glyphs too.
- In the app, the birth chart wheel is described as a list. The shape of the drawing is not described.
