The year ahead, sign by sign

Your 2027 horoscope

Where Jupiter and Saturn are for your sign, the year’s eclipses and retrogrades, and all twelve months in colour.

How this is made

These horoscopes come from the real sky. They are not written in advance. Prism calculates where each planet is every day. Then it reads the sky in the traditional way for sun signs.

A birth chart has twelve houses. Each house is an area of life, such as money, home or career. For a sun sign, your sign is the 1st house, the next sign is the 2nd house, and so on. So every planet is in one house for each sign. The Moon’s house sets the focus of the day.

A planet is in a helpful position when it makes an easy angle with the sign. It is in a difficult position when the angle is tense. Venus and Jupiter usually help. Mars and Saturn usually add pressure. A planet is retrograde when it seems to move backwards in the sky. Tradition reads this as a time to review rather than to start. New moons are good for starts, full moons bring things to a peak, and eclipses mark turning points. Together, these give the day one of Prism’s five colours, from Hard to Harmony.

A sun sign is one twelfth of a birth chart, so this reading is the same for everyone born under it. The Prism app reads the same sky against your whole chart. Astrology is for reflection and fun. It is not advice.

Questions

How are these horoscopes made?

They come from the real positions of the planets, which Prism calculates every day. Each sign is read with whole-sign houses. This means the sign is its own 1st house, and every planet is in one area of life for that sign. The Moon’s house sets the focus of the day. The angles between the planets and the sign decide if the day is easier or harder.

What do the colours mean?

They are Prism’s five colours for a day. Harmony (blue) and Flow (green) are easier days. Steady (grey) is an ordinary day. Tense (amber) and Hard (coral) need more patience. About a third of days are Steady. Harmony and Hard each come about one day in ten.

Should I read my Sun sign or my rising sign?

Both work. A sun-sign horoscope describes the general picture for everyone born under that sign. Your rising sign often fits the events of your days more closely. This is because the houses of a birth chart are counted from the rising sign.

How is this different from the Prism app?

A sun sign is one twelfth of your birth chart. The app reads the same sky against your whole chart, with all ten planets and your exact houses. So the colour and the reasons are yours alone.
